Principle
This is a dermatological procedure that removes a precise thickness of the outer layer of the skin to regenerate the eliminated layer and to stimulate the lower layers. Skin peels are described by level of penetration.
Gentle skin peels (with glycolic acid) work on acne and restore the skin’s radiance.
Medium and deep skin peels (typically using trichloroacetic acid) act on wrinkles and brown spots, regenerating the dermis at a deeper level.
Skin peels can be performed on all skin types, including Black skin. In all cases, there is a skin preparation phase, a phase of treatment at the doctor’s office, and a phase of flaking and recovery at home. With special recommendation to apply complete sun protection for the two months following the aesthetic procedure.

Results
The results of a skin peel are visible after the first treatment. Skin cell renewal is activated, and noticeable defects are erased. At the superficial level, the dead cells of the epidermis are eliminated and replaced by younger, fresher cells. Depending on the indication, the face will regain a radiant complexion after one or several sessions.

Possible side effects
Flaking and redness will appear at the end of the procedure. A sensation of heat and discomfort will occur during the session, lasting several hours after it ends.

Number of sessions & budget
Several sessions at €80 to €1,000 each

Understanding peeling

Peeling comes from the English word to peel. The operation consists of a mini-destruction of the uppermost layer of the skin, known as the epidermis. This is known as skin exfoliation. This destruction causes skin cells to regenerate, producing collagen and elastic fibres. Peels can be used to treat a number of problems: overexposure to the sun, skin pigmentation, acne, skin blemishes and sun damage.

Depending on the desired result, the peel may be more or less deep. The deeper the peel, the greater the regeneration. Although there is no risk to your skin, a peel may sometimes require you to opt for a peel cream. This is to perfectly regenerate your skin. Your skin may be prone to redness or irritation. Peeling should not be confused with laser treatment.

What are peeling creams used for?

Cebelia's peeling creams are divided into two categories. Those that take care of your skin after a light or medium peel, and those that prolong the results of the peel. A peel can be a somewhat sensitive operation for your skin, and may therefore cause redness or a few hot sensations. It is not dangerous, but it can sometimes be uncomfortable. It is advisable to apply a repairing treatment after the procedure. Cebelia's comfort cream is recommended for superficial peels. The extreme care cream helps to regenerate your skin after a deeper peel.

Peel care creams can also prolong the effects of the peel. You'll find four different creams on our site. Cebelia's creams activate several effects on your skin: depigmenting, anti-wrinkle, radiant complexion.

If you have any questions about Cebelia's range of peeling and post-peeling treatments, please do not hesitate to contact us. We will be delighted to answer them.

Sensitive skin: discover the gentle face peel mask

Peeling is a procedure that can be applied to all skin types. In fact, since there are different types of peel depending on the degree of penetration of the product, it is possible to adapt to the most sensitive skin by opting for a gentle peel. For this, the use of glycolic acid is recommended. You may feel a slight sensation of heat when you first apply the product, but this is perfectly normal: the dermatological procedure involves removing part of the outer layer of the skin, which is necessary in order to trigger skin regeneration.

If you have sensitive skin, we advise you to pay extra attention to looking after your skin: apply a gentle peel mask, then use a skincare cream, whose role is to moisturise and reinforce your face's protective barrier, as often as you feel the need. Finally, you can also change serums until your skin has completely healed. At CEBELIA, we've designed our anti-ageing moisturising base to which you can add the active ingredient concentrates of your choice according to your current needs. Compose your own My L-HA Booster Serum to accompany you after the operation.
