Principle
Blepharoplasty is an aesthetic surgical procedure performed on the upper and/or lower eyelids, either to correct the signs of ageing or for hereditary reasons. The operation erases the eyes’ “tired” appearance, making them more youthful and dazzling. Blepharoplasty can involve the upper eyelids, removing excess skin and fat from the inner corners. For the lower eyelids, the aesthetic surgery treats the fatty pouches under the eyes.

Results
The results of blepharoplasty are only truly visible three to six months after the aesthetic procedure (the time it takes the tissues to regain their suppleness and for the scarring to fade as much as possible). The eyes are redefined and rested, and the puffiness has disappeared.

Possible side effects
There is no real pain, although slight discomfort may be experienced as the eyelids will be tightened. Swelling and bruising will appear after the aesthetic surgery.
