Principle
Liposuction is an aesthetic surgical operation that removes localized excess fat deposits. The principle involves inserting tubes through small incisions to suck up the fat cells. In different parts of the body, liposuction can remove excess fat that diet and exercise have been unable to eliminate. In some cases, it can also be used to redefine the face. Liposuction is available to both women and men, but should never be a replacement for a diet.

Results
The results are visible immediately after liposuction, although the effect is optimal three to six months later, once the skin has permanently retracted to the new curves of the body. To maintain those results, it is important to engage in a healthy lifestyle.

Possible side effects
At the treated areas, ecchymosis (bruising) and oedema (swelling) will appear. Pain levels vary from person to person, but are typically low thanks to the use of very narrow tubes. During the first days after the aesthetic procedure, you may experience fatigue, particularly if a significant quantity of fat was extracted. For work done on the body, the patient is required to wear contention stockings.
