Principle
Rhinoplasty is an aesthetic surgical operation that modifies the morphology of the nasal pyramid and may sometimes be used to correct a breathing problem. The principle behind rhinoplasty is to remodel the bone and cartilage in order to beautify the nose and correct any defects, whether congenital, trauma-related or caused by the ageing process. Beginning with incisions hidden inside the nostrils, the bone and cartilage skeleton is isolated by pulling back the skin covering it.

Results
After two to three months, you will have a good idea of the end result, although it takes a full year for the final shape and silhouette to become fixed. The purpose of rhinoplasty is to create harmony between the nasal pyramid and the rest of the facial features.

Possible side effects
The after-effects of rhinoplasty are rarely painful; the main source of discomfort in the first few days is the inability to breathe through the nose (due to packing or drainage tubes). Bruising will appear at the nose and eyelids, along with oedema (swelling).
