Lactic acid

Lactic acid is a fruit acid, extracted from milk and certain fruits and vegetables, it is part of the AHA (alpha-hydroxy acid) category. These molecules are, with BHA (beta-hydroxy acid), the most used chemical exfoliants on the market.

Lactic acid has a very significant keratolitic action: that is to say, it interacts with keratinocytes in order to remove dead skin cells. Combined with its hygroscopic action, the appearance of the skin is generally improved: it is more hydrated, the complexion is enhanced, regains radiance while hyperpigmentation and acne are reduced.
