Argireline is a peptide, a chain of amino acids responsible for building proteins.

Each peptide has a very specific role corresponding to the order of the amino acids that compose it, the latter can transport molecules, provide signals, inhibit enzymes or even neurotransmitters (like Argireline).

Inspired by the action of botulinum toxin injections, hexapeptide-8 creates a visually similar effect by taking the place of the neurotransmitter responsible for the contraction of muscles creating wrinkles. The skin is thus smoothed, filled and wrinkles are softened for a real skin plumping effect.
