Tranexamic Acid

Tranexamic acid is a molecule analogous to lysine synthesis. The latter is one of the 9 amino acids essential to the proper functioning of the human body which are not synthesized naturally but must be supplemented.

When applied to the skin, this acid plays a role in reducing the level of α-melanocytic hormones, inflammatory mediators between melanocytes and keratinocytes. As interactions are reduced, melanogenesis is blocked.

This action is useful on all signs of hyperpigmentation (actinic lentigo, dark circles, pregnancy mask and melasma, etc.) but also on post-inflammatory marks such as scars and traces of acne.
