NIACINAMIDE

Niacinamide is the common name associated with the active form of vitamin B3. Made up of two molecules: niacin (nicotinic acid) and its amide nicotinamide, it is essential in the process of supplying energy to the heart of cells by synthesizing the co-enzymes NAD (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide) and NADP (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate).

In the skin, niacinamide plays several roles, as an anti-aging active ingredient, it helps stimulate the production of collagen and fillagrin while inhibiting the transfer of melanosomes to keratinocytes, reducing hyperpigmentation.

It also acts on inflammation markers, reducing redness and imperfections and reducing sebum production.

For the scalp, niacinamide prevents cellular senescence induced by oxidative stress and premature entry into the catagen phase of hair follicles by influencing the gene expression of DKK-1, reducing hair loss.
